 This is great-great grandpa Hosea (pronounced Hozee) and grandma Ann Bilyeu. It is said that during the Civil War, Hosea escaped from his confederate captors while they rested in a peach orchard. Neither Hosea or Ann could read or write. They signed their names with an "X." Hosea was present at the infamous Bilyeu-Meadows Feud shootout on Bull Creek. |
